HEY THERE!

I’m Jamie Louise Lipsham.

Growing up, I always wanted to be in and around anything creative. Pots, pans and wooden spoons were my favourite childhood toys - I just wanted to make noise and put on a show.

This continued throughout high school and beyond, where I obtained a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services, and came first in the State of NSW in the HSC’s ‘Entertainment Industry’. From here, I begun work in and around audio, lighting, staging and vision systems at over 10 locations, including The Hawkesbury Show, Roslyn Packer Theatre, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Theatre.

My love for sound and production grew stronger. I decided to channel my efforts into a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Music and Sound Design at the University of Technology, Sydney. Here, I graduated with a Distinction average, and received three scholarships for my efforts and achievements ;

  • UTS Vice Chancellor’s Tuition Fee Scholarship

  • UTS Jumbunna Commencement Scholarship

  • Bruce and Carol Kendall Undergraduate Memorial Scholarship

It was my Bachelor’s Degree through which my love for the finer detailing in production grew, and my technical skills emerged. My collaboration with UTS’ Design students saw our short animated films into Microflix’s 2019 Film Festival. I developed an eye for innovation, a complex work ethic and strong collaboration skills.

This has all funnelled to where I stand now: The first Indigenous Australian to be working at Industrial Light and Magic, Sydney.

I’m forever keen on a chat, new opportunities and collaboration prospects - so if you’ve got something brewing, I’d love to hear it:
